I am happy to share that our paper, “Inverse design of Finocyl-type solid rocket grains for thrust-profile matching using surrogate-assisted optimization,” has been published in Aerospace Science and Technology.

This work presents a baseline-independent inverse-design framework for Finocyl-type solid rocket grains, combining physics-based burnback and internal ballistic analysis with an ANN surrogate model, genetic algorithm, and local perturbation sampling to match prescribed thrust profiles.

This project is especially meaningful to me because it was my final research project in Korea and the last work I completed with my previous research group. I am grateful to my co-authors and everyone in the lab who supported this work, and I look forward to continuing meaningful research and taking on new challenges in a new environment.
